Wired for Sound
Copyright 1998 by Bill Crozier
I took a walk down to the trees
By the garden and the berries
Don't I want to simplify
Everything is going by me

The other night there was wind and rain
Blow out the lights like a hurricane
Blow off the TV, off the phone
So it's quiet and we're all alone

I can't have anything I want
I want to get out of town
I can't have anything I want
I might be wired for sound
But the lights are on
I might be wired for sound
But the lights are on

How can I feel like I am free
When everything is going by me?
Where the TV tries to shoot me up
With everything that I don't want or need?

I can't have anything I want
I better get out of town
I can't have anything I want
I think I'm wired for sound
But the lights are on
I think I'm wired for sound
But the lights are on

I could go and grow coffee and cocoa
Pick the orange and the mango
In the place where I heard and learned the same word
For yesterday and tomorrow

I can't have anything I want
I had to get out of town
I can't have anything I want
Because I'm wired for sound
And the lights are on
Because I'm wired for sound
And the lights are on
